Episode

Breaking through technological walls

Artificial intelligence, deep learning, autonomous machines – these buzzwords sound like groundbreaking dreams of the future. But when will it be that these technologies are also naturally present in everyday life, one might ask. Or perhaps even yell, “Let’s stop it!” The thing is that these and other technologies are already work-in-progress and will become visible in small steps rather than in great leaps. Anyway – they do exist, the so-called “Falling Walls.” That is, the walls that need to be brought down or at least perforated. In the fifth episode of the TUCscicast special from the Collaborative Research Center “Hybrid Societies” at Chemnitz University of Technology, journalist and moderator Thibaud Schremser tries to approach these walls as well as the questions they raise for hybrid societies. He is accompanied by Prof. Dr. Anja Strobel, Dean of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences and Professor of Personality Psychology and Assessment, and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Einhäuser-Treyer, Professor of Physics of Cognitive Processes.
