The Corona pandemic has turned our lives upside down. To prevent infections, people should meet each other as little as possible in public and private spaces – preferably not at all. What could be more obvious in this situation than having robots assist us? For example, to do the shopping or to perform care and nursing tasks. But can robots really be of help here? Prof. Dr. Georg Jahn, Professor of Applied Gerontopsychology and Cognition and spokesperson of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) “Hybrid Societies” at Chemnitz University of Technology, and Prof. Dr. Ulrike Thomas, Professor of Robotics and Human-Machine Interaction and deputy spokesperson of the CRC, will discuss these questions.
