Social Displays. On the Accountability of Embodied Digital Technologies in Everyday Life
The project examines different ways in which EDT-designs display the cooperative features and capabilities of EDTs to humans. In order to capture an extensive synopsis of different “social displays”, a comparative empirical approach is chosen. On the basis of a multidimensional sampling scheme, contrasting single case studies on EDTs’ indicative behaviour and appearance shall be conducted. In addition, interviews and field observations shall be carried out. Joint work-packages, both conceptual and experimental, with projects E02, B03, D02, and D03 are envisaged.
