Implicit Driving Cues

Detection of Implicit Driving Cues as the Basis for a Proactive Driving Style of Highly Automated Cars

The project focusses on investigating vehicle-to-vehicle communication with a detailed consideration of implicit driving cues such as slowing down. The main aim is to identify, characterize and test relevant implicit driving cues in various situations as a basis for automated driving. The research questions are addressed by different, yet complementary research methods: a secondary data analysis, a naturalistic driving study, lab studies with constructed on-road video recordings, two driving simulator studies, and an on-road study.
